Men’s Volleyball: Olivet swept by Wisconsin-Stevens Point

DE PERE, Wis. – The University of Olivet men's volleyball team was defeated by University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in four sets at the second day of the St. Norbert (Wis.) College Invitational this morning inside the Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.
- Final Score: Wisconsin-Stevens Point defeated Olivet 19-25, 25-10, 25-19, 25-19

- Records: Olivet 2-8 overall, Wisconsin-Stevens Point 3-4 overall
- After the Pointers led 3-1 in the first set, the Comets rattled off a 4-1 run to go up 5-4. The teams traded points until Olivet used a 3-0 run to pull ahead by five points, 15-10. The Comets maintained the lead for the rest of the set, winning it by a 25-19 final.
- Wisconsin-Stevens Point scored the first nine points of the second set and never looked back, earning a 25-10 win.
- The first part of the third set was close, as there were 10 tied scores. Following the 10th deadlock at 11-11, Olivet scored the next two points to go up 13-11. The Pointers answered with a 10-1 spurt to go up 21-14. The Comets put the following four points on the scoreboard but could not recover from the deficit, as they lost the set 25-19.
- Olivet led 1-0 and 2-1 in the fourth set. Wisconsin-Stevens Point came back to take a 4-2 lead and did not relinquish its advantage for the remainder of the set, claiming a 25-19 win.
- The Pointers had only one more kill than Olivet, 47 to 46. The difference in the match was Wisconsin-Stevens Point recorded 11 less attack errors.
- Senior Quinn Dickerson posted a team-leading 13 kills.
- Making his first collegiate start, junior Declan Nowakowski finished with 11 kills.
- Senior Everett Haynes notched 39 set assists.
- Senior Will Mensching tallied 16 digs.
- The Comets play at Siena Heights University on Wednesday, February 7. The first serve is at 7:30 p.m.
