Men’s volleyball team closes season at Wabash

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – The Olivet College men's volleyball team ended the 2023 season with a three-set loss to Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) foe Wabash (Ind.) College today at Chadwick Court.
- Final Score: Wabash defeated Olivet 25-8, 25-22, 25-19
- Location: Chadwick Court; Crawfordsville, Indiana
- Records: Olivet 8-15 overall, 1-7 MCVL; Wabash 9-19 overall, 1-7 MCVL
- The Little Giants raced out to an 11-1 lead in the opening set. The Comets could not recover from the deficit, as Wabash went on to win the set, 25-8.
- In the second set, Olivet held an 11-9 lead. The Little Giants took advantage of five straight Comet errors to go ahead 14-11. Olivet fought back to level the score at 19-19. Wabash finished the set on a 6-3 spurt to win it, 25-22.
- The Comets seized a pair of two-point leads in the third set. After the last time at 9-7, the Little Giants put together an 8-3 run to go ahead 15-12. Olivet scored the next point on a service error, but it would not get any closer for the remainder of the set.
- Olivet totaled 31 kills.
- Junior Deontay Thomas slammed down a team-high nine kills.
- Junior Kai Hartman finished with seven kills.
- Junior Everett Haynes had 21 set assists.
- Hartman collected a team-best seven digs.
- Playing in his final collegiate match, senior Dakota Galeazzi tallied six digs.
- Patrick Volk recorded 14 kills, while Jackson Leeper and Ricky Sessions each had nine.
- Will Beikes posted match-highs in set assists (31) and digs (10).
