Men’s volleyball team falls to Trine

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's volleyball team fell to Trine (Ind.) University in a Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) match this evening at the Cutler Event Center. The Thunder earned wins by scores of 25-10, 25-16, 25-23.

Records: Olivet 4-13 overall, 0-6 MCVL; Trine 11-12 overall, 3-3 MCVL

• After a 2-2 tie in the first set, Trine went on an 11-0 run and never looked back.
• In the second set, the Comets trailed by two points, 8-6. A 2-0 run put the Thunder ahead by four points, and Olivet would not get any closer for the rest of the set.
• In the third set, Trine led by as many as six points, 18-12. The Comets chipped away at their deficit and eventually tied the set at 23-23. An Olivet attack error and Thunder kill ended the set.

• After recording a combined 11 kills in the first two sets, the Comets had 15 kills in the third set.
• Sophomore Kai Hartman led the way with a match-best 10 kills.
• Junior Dakota Galeazzi finished with six kills.
• Sophomore Everett Haynes tallied 22 set assists.
• Haynes and sophomore Deontay Thomas each registered nine digs.

• Daniel Boren posted seven kills on 12 attempts for a .583 attack percentage.
• Three other players had four kills apiece.
• Ryan McDonald collected 38 set assists, as he was the only player to see action in all three sets.
• Hunter Haas notched six digs.

• The Comets welcome the Wabash (Ind.) College Little Giants to the Cutler Event Center Friday night for a MCVL match, beginning at 7 p.m.
