Men’s volleyball team falls in three sets at Mount St. Joseph

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Olivet College men's volleyball team was downed in three sets by Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) University in a Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) match this afternoon at the Harrington Center.
Final Score: Mount St. Joseph def. Olivet 25-13, 25-17, 25-13

Records: Olivet 4-11 overall, 0-4 MCVL; Mount St. Joseph 9-8 overall, 3-3 MCVL
- The Lions and Comets matched each other point-for-point to start the first set. Following an 8-8 deadlock, Mount St. Joseph went on a 5-0 run. Olivet was never able to recover from the deficit, as the Lions claimed a 25-13 victory in set one.
- The Comets scored the first point of the second set before Mount St. Joseph answered with four straight points. Olivet put the next point on the scoreboard but would not get any closer for the rest of the set.
- Following a 2-2 tie in the third set, a 4-0 Lion run made the score 6-2. The teams traded 2-0 runs to create a couple two-point differentials, 6-4 and 8-6. The Comets did not draw any nearer for the remainder of the set.
- Sophomore Kai Hartman topped Olivet with four kills.
- Junior Dakota Galeazzi and freshman Ethan Valente finished with three kills apiece.
- Freshman Nicholas Gonzales tallied team-highs in set assists (10) and digs (nine).
- Jason Hascher recorded a team-leading nine kills and 10 digs.
- Ben Carmosino dished out a match-high 27 set assists.
- The Comets play their final four regular season matches inside The Cutler Event Center. The first is next Friday, March 25, against Adrian College, starting at 7 p.m.
