ADRIAN, Mich. – The Olivet College men's volleyball team fell to the host Bulldogs in three sets in their final match at the Adrian College Quad today inside the Merillat Sports & Fitness Center.
Final Score: Adrian def. Olivet 25-23, 25-20, 25-20

Records: Olivet 1-3 overall, Adrian 2-5 overall
- In the first set, the Comets led by two points twice. After the last time at 8-6, the Bulldogs went on a 6-0 run to go up 12-8. Olivet chipped away at its deficit and eventually took a 22-21 lead. The Comets led one more time at 23-22 before Adrian scored the final three points to win the set 25-23.
- The teams traded the first six points of the second set. With the score knotted at 3-3, the Bulldogs used three kills and two Olivet attack errors to go up 8-3. Adrian did not give up its lead for the remainder of the set, winning it 25-20.
- The Comets took a three-point lead, 10-7, in the third set. The Bulldogs responded with a 4-0 run before three straight Olivet points made the score 13-11. The Comets led by two points one more time, 14-12. Adrian answered with a 4-0 spurt to go up 16-14 and did not relinquish its advantage for the rest of the set.
- Sophomore Deontay Thomas led Olivet with 18 kills and .263 attack percentage.
- Sophomore Kai Hartman finished with eight kills.
- Sophomore Everett Haynes recorded 24 set assists.
- Junior Dakota Galeazzi tallied a team-leading seven digs.
- Thomas' 18 kills broke Olivet's single-match, three-set record. The previous record was 17 by Aaron Smith at Concordia University Wisconsin on February 1, 2020. The 18 kills are tied for the third-most in a match regardless of number of sets played.
- Thomas' 38 attack attempts rank third-most for a single-match that went three sets.
- Chase Heuer had a team-leading 11 kills, followed by Andrew Gawrisch with 10.
- Brandon Ravelo collected 31 set assists.
- Gawrisch and Samuel Williams each had six digs.
- The Comets return to the court Friday, February 4, when they welcome the Concordia University Chicago Cougars to the Cutler Event Center. First serve is at 7 p.m.
