Men’s volleyball team swept by Adrian in three sets
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men’s volleyball team was swept in three sets by Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) rival Adrian College this evening at the Cutler Event Center.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's volleyball team was swept in three sets by Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) rival Adrian College this evening at the Cutler Event Center.
Final Score: Adrian defeated Olivet 25-18, 25-19, 25-22

Records: Olivet 3-12 overall, 3-12 MCVL; Adrian 7-8 overall, 7-6 MCVL
- In the first set, the Bulldogs built a three-point lead, 11-8. The Comets fought back to close the gap to a single point, 12-11 and 13-12. Olivet would not get any closer, as Adrian put three straight points on the scoreboard.
- The Comets had the early advantage in the second set. Trailing 6-5, the Bulldogs went on a 5-0 run to go up 10-6. Adrian did not trail for the rest of the set.
- The teams traded points to start the third set. With the score tied at 6-6, the Bulldogs scored three consecutive points. The Comets responded with a 7-2 run to take a 14-12 lead. Olivet maintained the lead and went ahead 22-21 after an Adrian player was issued a red card for misconduct. The Bulldogs responded with four straight points to end the set and to win the match.
- Freshman Deontay Thomas led all players with eight kills.
- Freshmen Kai Hartman and Quinn Dickerson each had four kills.
- Freshman Everett Haynes dished out 21 set assists.
- Sophomore Dakota Galeazzi topped the defense with eight digs.
- Chase Heuer, Kolby Miller and Shane Wenz slammed down seven kills apiece.
- Andrew Gawrisch tallied 30 set assists.
- Kevin Curley collected nine digs.
- Olivet concludes its season tomorrow with a home match against Adrian, starting at 7 p.m. Please note the later start time.
