Men’s volleyball team falls twice to Mount St. Joseph in three sets

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Olivet College men's volleyball team fell to Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) University twice in three sets in a weekend Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League doubleheader at the Harrington Center. The Lions won Saturday's match by scores of 25-13, 25-11, 25-15, and today's match by scores of 25-11, 25-12, 25-19.

• The Lions never trailed in any of the three sets.

• Senior Dan Hayes and freshman Kai Hartman each had five kills.
• Freshman Everett Haynes recorded 10 set assists.
• Hartman collected a team-best four digs.

• Jason Hascher slammed down 14 kills, with only one error, on 22 attempts for a .591 hitting percentage.
• Rey Sanchez posted a match-best 29 set assists and eight digs.

• Like the first match, Mount St. Joseph was never playing from behind in each of the three sets.

• Hartman topped Olivet with seven kills.
• Hayes was next with five kills.
• Haynes tallied team-bests in set assists (15) and digs (five).

• Hascher had 13 kills to go along with a .579 attack percentage.
• Sanchez dished out 28 set assists.
• Craig Dannemiller and Logan Essen each collected eight digs.

• The Comets return to the court next Sunday, February 28, for two matches at Trine (Ind.) University. First serve from match one at Hershey Hall is at 11 a.m.
