Men’s volleyball defeated by Indiana Tech in home-opener
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men’s volleyball team lost a three-set match (25-21, 25-22, 25-14) to Indiana Institute of Technology tonight in its home-opener at the Upton Center Gymnasium.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's volleyball team lost a three-set match (25-21, 25-22, 25-14) to Indiana Institute of Technology tonight in its home-opener at the Upton Center Gymnasium.

- The first set was close, as neither team led by more than two points until the Comets seized a three-point cushion at 10-7. The Warriors put four of the next five points on the scoreboard to even the score, 11-11. The teams traded points to create five additional tied scores. Following the final one at 16-16, Indiana Tech used two Olivet attack errors to go up 18-16. The Comets trimmed their deficit down to a single point twice, but they would not get any closer for the rest of the set.
- Early in the second set, the Warriors built a three-point lead. Olivet fought back to level the score on four occasions. After the last time at 10-10, Indiana Tech went on a 4-0 run. The Comets did not go down without a fight, as they battled all the way back to make the 23-22. Back-to-back Warrior kills ended the set in their favor.
- The third set was back-and-forth until Indiana Tech used a 5-0 scoring spurt to turn a 5-4 deficit into a 9-5 lead. Olivet scored three straight points to make the score 9-8. The Warriors and Comets exchanged 3-0 runs to create another one-point margin, 12-11. Indiana Tech finished the set on a 13-3 run.
- Senior Deivan Prince topped the team with 10 kills and a .471 attack percentage.
- Senior Brock Pringle had five kills.
- Senior Aaron Giorgi posted team-highs in set assists (15) and digs (12).
- Cameron Ternent recorded 16 kills with only one error on 27 attempts for a .556 hitting percentage.
- Mason Milan tallied nine kills.
- Chandler Davis collected 38 set assists.
- Joey Hermes finished with 10 digs.
- Olivet resumes Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League play tomorrow when it travels to play Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) University at 7 p.m.
