Brown wins 200 and 400, men’s track and field team finishes fifth at MIAA Field Day
OLIVET, Mich. – Senior Jordon Brown won two events to help the Olivet College men’s track and field team to a fifth-place finish at the 2023 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Day. The Comets hosted the championships on the Kolassa Track and inside the Cutler Athletic Complex.

OLIVET, Mich. – Senior Jordon Brown won two events to help the Olivet College men's track and field team to a fifth-place finish at the 2023 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Day. The Comets hosted the championships on the Kolassa Track and inside the Cutler Athletic Complex.
- The Comets totaled 56.333 points. Trine (Ind.) University captured the MIAA title with 219 points, followed by Hope College (159.666), Albion College (152) and Calvin University (116).
- Brown won the 400-meter run in a MIAA championship and school record time of 47.30 seconds. He also took first in the 200-meter dash in a school record time of 21.51 seconds. Brown also earned the league title in the 200 and 400 at the 2023 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in February.
- Brown was joined by freshman Jonathan Holloway, junior Hayden Germain and senior Chase Mendham for a fourth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay (3:22.67).
- Junior Chris Davis finished fifth in the 1,500-meter run (4:03.31) and eighth in the 5,000-meter run (15:37.42).
- Also, in the 1,500-meter run, Mendham was seventh (4:05.30).
- Germain was seventh in the 800-meter run (1:58.97).
- Junior Charles Miller placed seventh in the 100-meter dash (11.20) and eighth in the 200-meter dash (22.94).
- Sophomore Jake Watkins was part of a three-way tie for eighth in the high jump (5 feet, 7 inches).
- The Comets are planning to send a group of student-athletes to last chance meets over the next two weeks.
