Brown leads men’s track and field team at day one of MIAA Field Day
OLIVET, Mich. – Senior Jordon Brown was second in the long jump and qualified for the finals in two events to lead the Olivet College men’s track and field team at day one of the 2023 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Day. The Comets are hosting the championships on the Kolassa Track and inside the Cutler Athletic Complex.

OLIVET, Mich. – Senior Jordon Brown was second in the long jump and qualified for the finals in two events to lead the Olivet College men's track and field team at day one of the 2023 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Day. The Comets are hosting the championships on the Kolassa Track and inside the Cutler Athletic Complex.
- With five events scored, Olivet has 16 points and is tied with Adrian College for fourth-place in the team standings. Trine (Ind.) University is first with 84 points, followed by Albion College (45) and Calvin University (22).
- Brown leaped a season-best 23 feet to take second in the long jump. He also had the fastest preliminary time in the 200- and 400-meter dashes at 22.05 and 49.14 seconds, respectively.
- Also, in the long jump, senior Jordon Butler scored fourth-place points with a personal-best mark of 22 feet, 2-1/2 inches.
- Senior Byron Pearce placed sixth in the hammer throw (146 feet, 4 inches).
- Junior Charles Miller advanced to tomorrow's finals in the sprint events. He had the fifth-fastest prelim time in the 100 (11.09) and seventh-fastest in the 200 (22.90).
- Junior Hayden Germain was seventh-quickest in the 800-meter run (1:57.06) to land a spot in the finals.
- Day two of the 2023 MIAA Field Day begins tomorrow with the remaining field event finals, starting at 12 p.m. Finals in the track events are set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
