Brown advances to 400-meter dash finals at NCAA Division III Championships
GENEVA, Ohio – Olivet College junior Jordon Brown has advanced to the 400-meter dash finals at the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the SPIRE Institute.
GENEVA, Ohio – Olivet College junior Jordon Brown has advanced to the 400-meter dash finals at the 2022 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the SPIRE Institute.
Brown ran the eighth-fastest time in the preliminaries at 47.52 seconds. The time was just 0.10 seconds shy of equaling his school-record mark of 47.42 seconds.
Brown was fourth in his heat. However, the winner of each of three heats and the next six fastest times moved onto the finals. The fastest time in the preliminaries was 46.12 seconds by Eric Gregory from Gallaudet (D.C.) University.
The top eight finishers in the finals will earn NCAA All-American honors. The last Olivet track and field to earn NCAA All-American at the outdoor championships was Andrew Benkovsky in 2015 when he placed seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
The 400-meter dash finals will take place tomorrow afternoon at 1:20 p.m.
