Brown breaks 400-meter dash school record, Albaugh places seventh in shot put at Midwest Twilight Meet

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – With a time of 47.42 seconds, junior Jordon Brown broke the Olivet College outdoor track and field record in the 400-meter dash. The performance was at the Augustana (Ill.) College Midwest Twilight Meet.

The time also moves him up on the NCAA Division III Performance list. He has almost certainly punched his ticket for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships next week at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The official list of participants for the championships will be released tomorrow on NCAA.com by 8 p.m. EST.

Brown's time breaks one of the longest-standing Olivet outdoor track and field records. The previous record was 48.00 seconds by Bob Condon during the 1976 season.

Also, in the 400, senior Kyle McDowell finished in 48.62 seconds.

For the women, senior Lillian Albaugh placed seventh in the shot put. Her mark, 41 feet and 11-1/4 inches, did not exceed her previous best mark. Entering today's last chance meets, Albaugh sat 21st on the NCAA DIII Performance List with a 44 feet, 7 inch mark. The top 22 student-athletes earn a trip to the NCAA Championships.
