Men’s indoor track and field team takes sixth at MIAA Championship
ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College men’s indoor track and field team placed sixth at the 2022 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship. Trine (Ind.) University was the host and the events took place at the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center. The Comets totaled 60 points. Trine won the MIAA Championship with 208 points.

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College men's indoor track and field team placed sixth at the 2022 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship. Trine (Ind.) University was the host and the events took place at the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center. The Comets totaled 60 points. Trine won the MIAA Championship with 208 points.
- The men's distance medley relay team of sophomore Hayden Germain, junior Chase Mendham, sophomore Hunter Hillard and junior Zac Schneck captured the MIAA title with a time of 10:45.63. The time was nearly six seconds faster than the runner-up team from Calvin.
- Junior Jordon Brown and senior Kyle McDowell tied for second in the 400-meter dash, as both runners completed the race in 50.36 seconds. The time for Brown was a personal-best.
- Germain finished third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.64.
- The 4x400-meter relay team of junior Tyler Chavalia, Brown, Germain and McDowell placed third in 3:29.35.
- Brown was third in the long jump with a leap of 22 feet, 1-3/4 inches and eighth in the 200-meter dash (22.93).
- Mendham finished fifth in the 3,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 8:58.70.
- Junior Denver Orlando cleared the pole vault bar at 13 feet, 7-1/4 inches to place third. Also, in the pole vault, freshman Taylor Darhower placed fifth in the pole vault (12 feet, 5-1/2 inches).
- Junior Byron Pearce was sixth in the shot put (49 feet, 4-1/4 inches).
