Season-best performances highlight track and field at Hillsdale “Gina” Relays
HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Olivet College men’s and women’s track and field teams combined to post 24 season-best performances at the 54th Annual Hillsdale College “Gina” Relays. The three-day meet, which began Thursday night, featured NCAA Division I, II and III, and NAIA schools as well as unattached athletes.

HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's track and field teams combined to post 24 season-best performances at the 54th Annual Hillsdale College "Gina" Relays. The three-day meet, which began Thursday night, featured NCAA Division I, II and III, and NAIA schools as well as unattached athletes.
- On Thursday night, freshmen Cameron Smith and Hunter Hillard ran season-best times of 15:43.63 and 16:20.90, respectively in the 5,000-meter run.
- On Friday, sophomore Jordon Butler posted Olivet's top finish, as he placed fifth in the long jump (20'9").
- Friday season-best performances were turned in by:
- Butler: 110-meter high hurdles (15.37)
- Senior Jaden Costa: 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:38.76)
- Sophomore John C Downey: 110-meter high hurdles (16.96)
- Freshman Hayden Germain: 800-meter run (1:56.71)
- Sophomore Paul Muir: javelin throw (114'11")
- Sophomore William Reed: 100-meter dash (11.10) and 200-meter dash (22.99)
- On Saturday, senior Jacob Smith took first-place in the shot put with a mark of 48 feet, 4-3/4 inches.
- Saturday's season-bests were by:
- Junior Isaiah Bailey: discus throw (113'5")
- Downey: triple jump (39'1-3/4")
- Muir: pole vault (13'3/4")
- Sophomore Denver Orlando: pole vault (14'1/2")
- Posting season-best marks on Friday were:
- Freshman Brianna Bailey: 100-meter dash (15.52)
- Freshman Alex DeVault: 100-meter dash (13.67)
- Freshman Jersey Gaedert: 100-meter dash (13.51) and 200-meter dash (28.13)
- Freshman Allyson Stevens: 800-meter run (2:37.23) and javelin throw (84'1")
- Freshman Tonya Tepin: 800-meter run (2:34.89)
- Freshman Taylor Wilsey: long jump (15'8-1/4")
- Saturday season-best performances were by:
- Junior Liilian Albaugh: discus throw (108'6")
- Jolliff, DeVault, Gaedert and Wilsey: 4x100-meter relay (51.90)
- Gaedert, Stevens, Tepin, DeVault: 4x400-meter relay (4:27.37)
NOTE: To achieve a season-best, the student-athlete must have competed in the event at least one other time during this current outdoor season.
- The Comets host the Olivet College Tune-up next Saturday, May 1, on Kolassa Track and inside the Cutler Athletic Complex. Field events get started at 11 a.m., followed by the running events at 1 p.m.
