Men’s track and field team finishes second at Comet Invitational
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men’s track and field team finished in second-place at the 2021 Comet Invitational on the Kolassa Track and at the Cutler Athletic Complex. Today’s meet opened the outdoor portion of Olivet’s track and field schedule.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's track and field team finished in second-place at the 2021 Comet Invitational on the Kolassa Track and at the Cutler Athletic Complex. Today's meet opened the outdoor portion of Olivet's track and field schedule.
- Sophomore Jordon Brown led a 1-2 Olivet finish in the 400-meter dash. His winning time of 49.16 seconds edged junior Kyle McDowell's time of 49.45 seconds.
- Freshman Cameron Smith won the 3000-meter run with a time of 9:18.20.
- The 4x800-meter relay quartet of freshman Hayden Germain, McDowell, senior Tyler Peck and senior Dustin Rutter had the fastest time at 7:58.31, which also broke the school record.
- Sophomore Denver Orlando took first-place in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 4.20 meters.
- Sophomore Jordon Butler won the long jump, leaping 6.73 meters.
- Senior Jacob Smith posted the first-place mark in the discus throw at 41.95 meters.
- Germain was second in the 800-meter run (1:59.30).
- The 4x100-meter relay team of freshman Charles Miller, Brown, Butler and sophomore William Reed had the second-fastest time at 42.78 seconds.

- The Comets travel to Albion College next Friday for the Spring Thaw. Field events start at 11 a.m., followed by running events at 4 p.m.
