Four first-place finishes highlight men’s indoor track and field team at Trine Indoor Meet
ANGOLA, Ind. – Four first-place finishes highlighted the Olivet College men’s track and field team, as the Comets finished in second-place at the Trine University Indoor Meet, which took place inside the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center. Olivet totaled 103 points. The host Thunder took first-place with 163 points. Albion College was third (94) and Adrian College was fourth (84).

ANGOLA, Ind. – Four first-place finishes highlighted the Olivet College men's track and field team, as the Comets finished in second-place at the Trine University Indoor Meet, which took place inside the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center.
Olivet totaled 103 points. The host Thunder took first-place with 163 points. Albion College was third (94) and Adrian College was fourth (84).
- Junior Kyle McDowell led a Comet 1-2 finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.59 seconds. Sophomore Jordon Brown was second at 50.81 seconds.
- Olivet also finished 1-2 in the 800-meter run. Senior Tyler Peck was first at 2:01.55, followed by freshman Hayden Germain at 2:01.63.
- The 4x400-meter relay quartet of sophomore William Reed, Germain, Peck and McDowell clocked-in with the fastest time at 3:30.54.
- Sophomore Denver Orlando won the pole vault, clearing the bar at 13 feet and 9.25 inches.
- Senior Jacob Smith posted the second-best throw in the shot put at 48 feet and 3.25 inches. Also in the shot put, freshman Robert Reynolds was fourth with a 41 feet and 1.75 inch mark.
- Sophomore Elijah Lewis soared to a fourth-place mark (20 feet and 5.25 inches) in the long jump.
- Sophomore Chase Mendham placed third in the mile run at 4:37.58.
- Sophomore Jordon Butler finished fourth in the 60-meter dash in 7.15 seconds.
- The Comets will return to Trine next Saturday, February 13, for another indoor meet. The meet starts at 10 a.m.
