McDowell and Smith qualify for NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field Championships
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Olivet College sophomore Kyle McDowell and junior Jacob Smith have qualified for the 2020 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Championships Friday and Saturday, March 13-14, at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Olivet College sophomore Kyle McDowell and junior Jacob Smith have qualified for the 2020 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Championships Friday and Saturday, March 13-14, at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
McDowell gained the No. 20 seed and the last spot in the field for the 400-meter dash. His seed time was 49.60 seconds, which is an Olivet indoor record. The 400-meter preliminaries will take the track on Friday afternoon at 3:10 p.m. The top nine runners will advance to Saturday's finals at 3:10 p.m.
Smith makes a return trip to the indoor championships in the shot put. He is seeded No. 16 with a school-record mark of 53 feet, 8-1/4 inches. The shot put competition will take place Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
