OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College senior Connor Bauserman has been selected to the 2017 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) team for track and field. The individual event winners at the MIAA Field Day are automatic selections to the all-conference teams.
Bauserman took first-place in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:56.21. He also ran the second leg of the sixth-place 4x400-meter relay which had a time of 3:34.50.
Bauserman has now earned four All-MIAA awards during his time at Olivet. He was a 2015 All-MIAA outdoor track pick, and a 2016 and 2017 All-MIAA indoor selection.
During the indoor track season, Bauserman achieved NCAA All-American honors with a seventh-place finish in the 800-meter run. He currently sits 17th on the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Performance list for the 800-meter run with a school-record time of 1:52.00. Bauserman will run later this week at a last chance meet.
"Connor once again came up with a big performance at the MIAA Field Day," said Olivet head coach Karen Lutzke. "We wanted to work on his strength and race a different event than the 800. Connor is one of the most dedicated athletes I had the opportunity to coach and look forward to seeing him reach his goals for the outdoor season. After earning All-American honors in the 800m during the indoor season, he was able to turn his focus to new goals for the outdoor season, and I believe the best is yet to come in the next few weeks for Connor."
