FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College senior Connor Bauserman has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
At the Auto-Owners Insurance Spartan Invitational, Bauserman posted the MIAA's fastest time this season in the 1,500-meter run at 3:58.85. The time is also tied for 31st on the 2017 NCAA Division III Performance list.
"Connor has great instinct when it comes to race strategy and was able to move up throughout the race," said Olivet Head Track & Field Coach Karen Lutzke. "He was able to continue where he left off the indoor season when he earned his All-American honors in the 800-meter run. This race was Connor's first outdoor event since 2015, and we are excited to see his progress throughout the remainder of the season. His range of events allows him to keep his options open with races for the outdoor season."
The Comets return to the track Saturday at the Ferris State University Bulldog Invitational.
