The only first-place finish for the Comets was by freshman David Ray (Lansing) in the 400-meter hurdles (:58.29). He also took second-place in the 110-meter high hurdles (:15.72) and ran the anchor leg of the second-place 4x100-meter relay. The quartet of Ray, senior Nick Wolf (Olivet) and freshmen Jesse Holmes (Springport) and Mike Martin (Caledonia/Wayland) clocked-in at 44.70 seconds.
Martin was also third in the 100-meter dash (:11.09) and fourth in the 200-meter dash (:22.58). In the long jump, freshman Jonah Wilson (Olivet) placed second (20'7") and freshman Nicholas Perkins (Charlotte) was third (19'8"). Perkins finished third in the triple jump (38'10.50").
For the women, sophomore Sarah Caldwell (Bronson) lowered her own school record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.21 by more than two seconds. Last week, she ran 1:02.33 to break the previous record by .07 seconds.
Olivet is back in action next Saturday, April 11, when it participates in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree at Adrian College.
