Men’s tennis team beats Concordia University-Ann Arbor, 7-2

MARSHALL, Mich. – The Olivet College men's tennis team defeated Concordia University-Ann Arbor, 7-2, this afternoon at the Marshall High School Tennis Courts.

Records: Olivet 1-1 overall, Concordia-Ann Arbor 1-0 overall
- The match started in singles play, where Olivet won 4-of-6 flights. The Comets then swept the three doubles flights for the 7-2 victory.
- At No. 1 singles, freshman Gabe Hand cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win.
- At No. 2 singles, sophomore Sam Vondra won 6-4, 6-2, in a very competitive match.
- At No. 3 singles, junior Benjamin Morrow claimed a 6-4 win in the first set before losing 6-4 in the second set. He then won the match tiebreaker, 10-7.
- At No. 5 singles, freshman Jack Hadley had a 6-1, 6-3 victory.
- The No. 1 doubles duo of Hand and Morrow won 8-5.
- The No. 2 doubles tandem of Hadley and Vondra coasted to an 8-2 win.
- The No. 3 doubles team of senior Donald Doyle and freshman Trevor Lewis earned an 8-6 win.
- The Comets rest tonight and return to Marshall High School tomorrow at 1 p.m. against Trine (Ind.) University.
