Men’s tennis team, four players earn ITA academic honors
The Olivet College men’s tennis team and four individuals have earned academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for the 2019-20 academic year.
TEMPE, Ariz. – The Olivet College men's tennis team and four individuals have earned academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for the 2019-20 academic year.
With its 3.471 GPA, the Comets are recipients of the ITA All-Academic Team award. To be selected for this award, a team must have a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). This year is the third time in program history Olivet has earned this honor.
The individual honorees are Dalton Miner, Benjamin Morrow, Tyler Nobel and Sam Vondra. To be selected for this honor, the player must be a varsity letterwinner, have at least a 3.50 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for the academic year, and enrolled at present school for at least two semesters. Miner and Nobel are now two-time honorees, and Morrow and Vondra are first-time honorees.
In 2020, there were 958 NCAA Division III male student-athletes named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and 125 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
