Erik Richardson is in his second season as the head men's and women's swimming & diving coach at The University of Olivet in 2023-24. Richardson was promoted to the head coach position on Jiuly 29, 2022, after serving as an assistant coach from 2019-22.

Prior to arriving at Olivet, Richardson coached at Liberty High School and the Rocky Mountain Rapids club team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. While in Colorado, swimmers saw success in both the classroom and the water. More than a dozen school records were broken by the men’s and women’s teams. The group included one All-American. The Rapids had five swimmers achieve Junior National qualifying times. The Liberty women were Academic All-State six consecutive years.

Richardson graduated from the University of Evansville (Ind.) in December 2007.. While there, he was a member of the swimming and diving team from 2003-07.

Richardson lives in Lansing with his wife, Heather. She is a second-grade teach at Cole Academy in Lansing. They have one child, born August 2022.
