Swimming teams compete in 800 freestyle relay at 2023 MIAA Championship
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College men’s and women’s swimming teams competed in the lone event, 800-yard freestyle, at day one of the 2023 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship inside the Venema Aquatic Center.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's swimming teams competed in the lone event, 800-yard freestyle, at day one of the 2023 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship inside the Venema Aquatic Center.
- The team of junior Jennifer Mann, freshman Bridgette Shroll, freshman Sarah Steffens and freshman Kelsee Lawson finished fourth with a time of 8:06.73. The time is the sixth-fastest in school history for the event. Mann led off the relay with a 1:54.20 split, which is a personal-best and ranks second all-time at Olivet.
- The team of sophomore Landon Morgan, senior Takato Timmerman, sophomore Seth Kading and senior Carter Moore was fifth with a time of 7:03.53. Morgan led off the relay with a personal best 200 freestyle time of 1:46.04.
- The second day of the MIAA Championship begins tomorrow with preliminaries in the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley and 50-yard freestyle starts at 10 a.m. The finals in those events along with the 200-yard freestyle relay and 400-yard medley relay are set to begin at 5 p.m.
