Men’s swimming & diving team finishes fifth at 2022 MIAA Championship
HOLLAND, Mich. – With 319 points, the Olivet College men’s swimming & diving team finished in fifth-place at the 2022 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship held inside the Holland Aquatic Center. The 319 points were 127 more than sixth-place Alma College and 61 behind fourth-place Kalamazoo College.

HOLLAND, Mich. – With 319 points, the Olivet College men's swimming & diving team finished in fifth-place at the 2022 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship held inside the Holland Aquatic Center. The 319 points were 127 more than sixth-place Alma College and 61 behind fourth-place Kalamazoo College.
- Junior Takato Timmerman placed seventh in the 200-yard breaststroke for Olivet's top individual finish in tonight's finals. He needed to win a swim-off to advance to the "A" final. In that swim-off, Timmerman posted a season-best time of 2:08.38.
- Also, in the 200-yard breaststroke, freshman Landon Morgan and senior Thomas Krüg were 10th and 15th, respectively. They posted season-best times of 2:25.70 (Morgan) and 2:12.25 (Krüg) in the preliminaries.
- Junior Carter Moore finished 12th in 100-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 48.71 seconds.
- Freshman Treyton Gabrielson clocked-in at a season-best time of 2:03.78 in the 200-yard butterfly to place 14th. He also shaved more than a minute off his previous best time in the 1,650-yard freestyle, stopping the clock at 17:30.87.
- Freshman Seth Kading had a 16th-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke at a season-best time of 2:04.23.
- To end the championship, the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Kading, Moore, Morgan and Timmerman out-touched the Kalamazoo team to finish fourth. Olivet's time of 3:11.69 ranks No. 8 all-time in school history.
- Other season-best times in the prelims were turned in by sophomore Dylan Lyons in the 200-yard backstroke (2:07.33), junior Chris Smith in the 100-yard freestyle (50.24) and junior Sebastian O'Leary in the 1,650-yard freestyle (18:15.49).
