Swimming & diving teams compete at the Carthage Classic
KENOSHA, Wis. – The Olivet College men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams participated in the three-day Carthage Classic, held at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center. The Comet men were seventh of 10 schools, and the Olivet women were 10th of 11 schools.

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Olivet College men's and women's swimming & diving teams participated in the three-day Carthage Classic, held at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center. The Comet men were seventh of 10 schools, and the Olivet women were 10th of 11 schools.
- Men – 7th-place with 676.50 points
- Women – 10th-place with 521.50 points
- Every swimmer had at least one season-best performance and many posted personal-best performances. A complete list of these performances will be added to this recap later this weekend.
- Thursday night
- Sophomore Jennifer Mann placed sixth in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:21.98.
- Friday morning/night
- Mann won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:25.22, which was nearly four seconds faster than the runner-up swimmer. She also finished seventh in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:22.53.
- Senior Kayla Eichaker took first-place in the 100-yard freestyle "C" final with a season-best time of 56.79 seconds. She also finished 13th in the 100-yard butterfly with a season-best time of 1:02.34.
- Saturday morning/night
- Mann captured second in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:42.32. Her preliminary time of 4:40.20 shattered the school record by more than six seconds.
- Eichaker brought home a 12th-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, stopping the clock in a season-best 25.54 seconds.
- Thursday night
- The 800-yard freestyle relay team of freshman Seth Kading, junior Carter Moore, junior Jacob Ritter and junior Takato Timmerman finished sixth among the "A" relays, with a time of 7:26.23.
- Friday morning/night
- Timmerman finished eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:16.60. He also placed 16th in the 100-yard freestyle at a season-best time of 49.39 seconds.
- Ritter scored 17th-place points in the 100-yard butterfly with a season-best time of 54.28 seconds.
- The 400-yard medley relay quartet of Kading, Timmerman, Ritter and Moore was sixth among "A" relays with a time of 3:38.87.
- Freshman Spenser Keene was third on the three-meter diving board, scoring 294.35 points.
- Saturday morning/night
- Timmerman secured a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 58.99 seconds. During preliminaries, he had a season-best time of 58.95 seconds. He also had the 12th-best performance in the 100-yard freestyle at a season-best time of 22.17 seconds.
- Kading and Ritter were 14th and 16th, respectively in the 100-yard backstroke. Kading's time, 56.72 seconds, was a season-best.
- Keene finished fourth in the one-meter diving with 283.58 points.
- The Comets' next official competition date is Saturday, January 15, 2022, when they host Bethel (Ind.) College at 1 p.m.
