OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men’s swimming & diving team defeated Aquinas College, 133-60, in its season-opening dual meet this afternoon inside the Upton Center Pool.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's swimming & diving team defeated Aquinas College, 133-60, in its season-opening dual meet this afternoon inside the Upton Center Pool.
- Olivet got off to a fast start with the 200-yard medley relay team of freshman Seth Kading, junior Jacob Ritter, junior Carter Moore and freshman James Covert taking first-place with a time of 1:45.53.
- The Comets went 1-2 in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Junior Parker Brown had the fastest time at 11:16.23, followed by freshman Keith Morgan at 12:18.69.
- Kading and Moore were 1-2 in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:50.68 and 1:55.29, respectively.
- Olivet had the top three finishers in the 200-yard individual medley. Ritter posted the quickest time at 2:07.71, followed by freshman Trey Gabrielson (2:15.83) and Morgan (2:22.70).
- The Comets also went 1-2-3 in the 100-yard freestyle. Moore was first at 51.37 seconds, followed by Covert (53.43) and junior Chris Smith (55.71).
- The 100-yard backstroke saw Olivet go 1-2, with Kading taking the win in 58.58 seconds, followed by sophomore Dylan Lyons at 1:01.11.
- Brown won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:28.00.
- Freshman Declan Nowakowski had the fastest-time in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:12.26.
- The 200-yard freestyle quartet of Moore, Kading, Covert and Ritter posted the quickest-time at 1:33.07.
- Freshman Gavin Sutton took first-place on the one-meter diving board, scoring 243.05 points. The total is ninth-best in school history for a 6-dive event.
- The Comets travel to Grand Rapids next Friday, October 22, for the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Relays at Calvin University. Action from the Venema Aquatic Center gets under way at 5 p.m.
