COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Olivet College men's and women's swimming & diving teams have been selected to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America team for the 2019 spring semester.
The Scholar All-America team award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester/term and in the semester/term of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).
Under the tutelage of second-year head coach Rob Brownell, the Comet women had a 3.61 team cumulative grade point average and the Olivet men posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.37. The women's GPA ranked 24th-best among the 185 NCAA Division III women's teams honored. The men's team was 36th of 134 NCAA Division III programs honored. The Comets have earned this honor in each of the semesters during Brownell's tenure as head coach.
"I am proud of the work that our student-athletes have done in and out of the pool," said Brownell. "They work extremely hard to maintain their grades but also have the same work ethic in the pool. I could not be happier for them and I know it will continue into the future."
