Men’s swimming & diving teams defeats Anderson and Manchester
The Olivet College men’s swimming & diving teams won 11 individual events and a relay to sweep a non-conference double dual against Anderson (Ind.) and Manchester (Ind.) today at the Upton Center Pool in Olivet. The Comets beat Anderson 180-68 and Manchester 191.50-50.50.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's swimming & diving teams won 11 individual events and a relay to sweep a non-conference double dual against Anderson (Ind.) and Manchester (Ind.) today at the Upton Center Pool in Olivet. The Comets beat Anderson 180-68 and Manchester 191.50-50.50.
- Men – Olivet def. Anderson, 180-68; Olivet def. Manchester, 191.50-50.50
- Junior Eric Wood took first-place in his the individual swims – 50-yard backstroke (:26.10), 50-yard freestyle (:22.00) and 100-yard backstroke (:56.55).
- Freshman Cade Erickson touched the wall first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.16) and 500-yard freestyle (5:07.37).
- Freshman Zachary Knott finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.55).
- Junior Zach Meharg was first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:29.60) and 100-yard individual medley (:58.94).
- Senior Bryan Plesner won the 50-yard butterfly in 26.11 seconds.
- Erickson, Meharg, Wood and junior Tom Decker came-from-behind to win the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:33.13.
- Junior Dalton Miner scored first-place points on both diving boards – 246.70 on the one-meter and 233.10 on the three-meter.
- Olivet hosts Albion College for a MIAA dual meet next Saturday, Feb. 9. Action at the Upton Center Pool starts at 11 a.m.
