Beckwith earns All-American honors in 100 backstroke, fails to make finals in the 200 backstroke
With a seventh-place finish, Olivet College junior Kellen Beckwith (Farmington Hills/North Farmington) has earned All-American honors in the 100-yard backstroke at the 2010 NCAA Division III National Championships at the University of Minnesota. He also broke the school record with a time of 50.16 seconds.

During Friday morning's preliminaries, Beckwith clocked-in at 50.33 seconds to advance to the finals. He is now a two-time NCAA All-American, as he was eighth in the 100 backstroke last year.
Beckwith failed to make the finals in the 200-yard backstroke. He posted the 23rd fastest time in the preliminaries and only the top 16 swimmers advance to the finals. Despite the finish, Beckwith broke the school record by .30 seconds, touching the wall in 1:52.31.
