The Olivet College men’s swimming and diving team wrapped-up the dual meet portion of its schedule today with a 187-112 victory at Kalamazoo College.

The Comets took first-place in 10-of-16 events. The only triple winner was Yury Bylina (Minsk, Belarus), who won the 200-yard butterfly (1:58.89) and 200-yard individual medley (1:59.82). He was joined by Juan Aguirre (Queretaro, Mexico), Mitch Powers (Kalamazoo/Central) and Brad Voss (Lansing/Holt) to win 400-yard freestyle relay (3:15.51).
Shawn Bergman (Chelsea) was first on both the one-meter and three-meter diving boards with scores of 258.10 and 264.35, respectively. Other individual winners included Powers, 100-yard freestyle (:48.90); Voss, 50-yard freestyle (:22:12); Nathan Busscher (Hamilton/Holland Christian), 200-yard freestyle (1:47.18); Brian Jaffee (Bowling Green, Ohio), 1,000-yard freestyle (10:27.22); and Jason Wheatley (Portage/Central), 500-yard freestyle (4:58.09).
Dustin Meisner (Temperance/Erie Mason) was the runner-up finisher in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke. His time in the 100 was 1:00.15, and 2:12.12 in the 200.
The Comets are now idle until the 2007 MIAA Championships Thursday-Friday, Feb. 8-10 at the Jenison High School Aquatics Center.
