Five different Comets swam on a winning relay and finished first in one individual event. The 200-yard medley relay team of junior Ananta Fetters (Fennville/Holland) and sophomores Dustin Meisner (Temperance/Erie Mason), Mitch Powers (Kalamazoo/Central) and Koji Takahashi (Etobicoke, Ontario/Silver Thorn CI) clocked in first at 1:39.20. Junior Juan Aguirre (Queretaro, Mexico), sophomore Brian Jaffee (Bowling Green, Ohio), junior Paul Riha (East Grand Rapids) and freshman Igor Rasula (Belgrade, Serbia) was first in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:30.39).
Aguirre led a 1-2-3 Olivet finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time time of 49.94 seconds. Other first-place finishes in the pool were by Fetters, 100-yard backstroke (:55.95); Jaffee, 500-yard freestyle, 4:58.94; freshman Ryan Key (Phoenix, Ariz./Brophy Prep), 200-yard individual medley (2:05.44); Rasula, 200-yard freestyle (1:49.25); and Takahashi, 100-yard butterfly (:53.47). Freshman Shawn Bergman (Chelsea) took top honors in the one-meter dive (269.80).
The Comets are idle until Dec. 10, when it participates in the North Central (Ill.) College Invitational.
