ANGOLA, Ind. – The University of Olivet men's soccer team was defeated by Trine (Ind.) University, 2-1, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association contest today at Weaver Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Olivet took a 1-0 lead in the 29th minute. Freshman Caiden Smith scored off an assist from junior Jaden Cantu.
  • The Thunder evened the score in the 42nd minute when Luke Kearns scored on a penalty kick.
  • Trine scored what proved to be the winning goal in the fourth minute of the second half.

FOR THE COMETS

  • Olivet totaled eight shots, and placed half on-goal.
  • Junior Kyle Buchan topped the team with three shots.
  • Sophomore Nicholas Van Port Fleet collected eight saves, while allowing both goals in 90 minutes of action.
