Buchan’s goals lift Olivet past Ohio Christian, 2-0

OLIVET, Mich. – Junior Kyle Buchan scored both goals to help The University of Olivet men's soccer team defeat Ohio Christian University, 2-0, this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Buchan's first goal came just four minutes and 45 seconds into the game. Junior Braden Abbott was fouled inside the box. Buchan stepped to the penalty spot. His shot was stopped by the keeper, but Buchan pounced on the rebound and sent the ball into the net.
• The score stayed 1-0 until the 76th minute when Buchan scored his second goal. Freshman Caiden Smith earned the assist.

FOR THE COMETS

• Olivet finished the game with a 25-5 advantage in total shots.
• Buchan led the way with seven shots, followed by junior Aidan Reynolds with five.
• Sophomore Nicholas Van Port Fleet was in net for the first 76 minutes and 50 seconds. He recorded three saves.
• Freshman Lincoln Homolka completed the game in goal for the final 13 minutes and 10 seconds.
