ANGOLA, Ind. – The University of Olivet men's soccer team fell to Trine (Ind.) University, 3-1, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contest this afternoon at Weaver Field.
- Final Score: Trine 3, Olivet 1
- Location: Weaver Field; Angola, Indiana
- Records: Olivet 1-4-6 overall, 0-1-2 MIAA; Trine 3-5-3 overall, 1-1-1 MIAA
- The Thunder grabbed a 1-0 lead behind a goal by Gavin Hardy in the 35th minute.
- The Comets scored the equalizer with 2:12 left until halftime. Freshman Ethan DeHeus netted the goal and sophomore Carter Scheel earned the assist.
- Trine added the go-ahead goal in the 59th minute before scoring what proved to be the winning goal in the 72nd minute.
- Freshman Djimo Kouyate slotted in Olivet's second goal with just under five minutes remaining in the game.
- Olivet totaled eight shots in the game, including two each for DeHeus and freshman Michael Elzerman.
- Freshman goalkeeper Nicholas Van Port Fleet played all 90 minutes and collected eight saves.
- The Comets host Hope College Saturday at 4 p.m.
