Men’s soccer team drops 3-0 game at Hope

HOLLAND, Mich. – The Olivet College men’s soccer team was on the losing end of a 3-0 final to Hope College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contest this afternoon at the Van Andel Soccer Stadium.

HOLLAND, Mich. – The Olivet College men's soccer team was on the losing end of a 3-0 final to Hope College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contest this afternoon at the Van Andel Soccer Stadium.

  • Final Score: Hope 3, Olivet 0
  • Location: Van Andel Soccer Stadium; Holland, Michigan
  • Records: Olivet 3-7-3 overall, 0-2-2 MIAA; Hope 6-3-5 overall, 4-1-0 MIAA

  • Three unassisted goals were the difference in the game.
  • The first goal came in the 33rd minute. The second goal was the result of a penalty kick in the 75th minute. The third goal came with around eight minutes left in the game.

  • Olivet was held to four shots.
  • Freshman Braden Abbott had two shots.
  • Junior Carlos Santos suffered the loss in goal. He made seven saves.

  • The goal scorers were Seth Walters, Cole Pauly and Thomas DeVries.
  • Ben Bush tallied four shots.
  • Keegan DeKuiper provided the clean sheet in goal.

  • Olivet hosts Alma College next Wednesday, October 19 at 4 p.m.
