Men’s soccer team ties Trine, 1-1
The Olivet College men’s soccer team battled to a 1-1 double overtime draw against Trine (Ind.) University this afternoon at the TU Soccer Complex in Angola, Indiana.

The Olivet College men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 double overtime draw against Trine (Ind.) University this afternoon at the TU Soccer Complex in Angola, Indiana.
After a scoreless first half, the Comets struck first in the 61st minute when junior Matt Jenca (Lansing/Holt) dented the back of the net for his first collegiate goal. Freshmen Daniel Casey-Dunn (Lansing/Lansing Catholic) and Matt Garza (Saline) were each credited with an assist on the goal. The score remained 1-0 until there was just under four minutes left in regulation when Trine's Curtis Holcom scored the equalizer.
For the game, Olivet outshot the Thunder, 20-12, including a decisive 15-4 advantage in shots-on-goal. Garza led the way with six shots, all on-goal. Four other Comets had two shots apiece. Junior Ethan Felsing (Mason) played all 110 minutes in goal, while making two saves.
Olivet travels to play Hope College Saturday. Game time at the Van Andel Soccer Stadium is 4 p.m.
