Men's soccer team blanks Concordia Chicago, 7-0
Freshman Mike May (Mason) scored seven points, three goals and one assist, to lead the Olivet College men’s soccer team to a 7-0 shutout victory against Concordia University Chicago today in Olivet.

Freshman Mike May (Mason) scored seven points, three goals and one assist, to lead the Olivet College men's soccer team to a 7-0 shutout victory against Concordia University Chicago today in Olivet.
May scored his first goal in the 21st minute off a pass from junior Andrew Evans (Eastport/Petoskey). May tallied back-to-back goals in a span of 40 seconds, the first one at the 47:56 mark and the second at the 48:36 mark. Junior Graham Lockwood (Haslett/Williamston) and sophomore Josh Van Wagner (Jackson/Lumen Christi) assisted on the first and second goal, respectively,
Van Wagner scored his first goal of the season in the 60th minute. Lockwood and May were each credited with an assist. Olivet (2-1) put the finishing touches on the win late in the game as three freshmen – Garrett Rieck (Roseville), Clay Robinson (Marshall) and Trsyr Friar (Haslett/Great Lakes Christian) – each found the back of the net. Freshman Bernardo Mandijuno (Holt) earned the assist on Rieck's and Robinson's goal. Senior Andrew Lansang (Rock Springs, Wyo.) tallied the assist on Friar's goal.
Olivet (2-1) finished the game with a 32-8 advantage in shots, including a 23-8 edge in shots on-goal. May and Van Wagner took six and five shots, respectively. In goal, sophomore Ethan Felsing (Mason) played the entire game and made five saves.
The Comets are back in action tomorrow when they host Manchester (Ind.) College at 3 p.m.
