Men's soccer team squeaks past Tri-State, 2-1
The Olivet College men’s soccer team defeated Tri-State (Ind.) University, 2-1, today in Angola, Ind. With the win, the Comets complete the season sweep of the Thunder, as they also beat them, 2-1, Sept. 19 in Olivet.

The Olivet College men's soccer team defeated Tri-State (Ind.) University, 2-1, today in Angola, Ind. With the win, the Comets complete the season sweep of the Thunder, as they also beat them, 2-1, Sept. 19 in Olivet.
Olivet put the first goal on the scoreboard in the eighth minute when senior Michael Manning (Charlotte) found the back of the net off an assist from sophomore Josh Van Wagner (Jackson/Lumen Christi). The Comets made the score 2-0 on an unassisted goal by freshman Mike May (Mason). Tri-State scored its goal just 1:05 into the second half.
Olivet (5-9, 3-5 MIAA) finished the game with eight shots to 12 for the Thunder. May had two shots, while six other Comets had one shot a piece. Sophomore goalkeeper Ethan Felsing (Mason) made five saves.
The Comets continue their swing of road games with a 4 p.m. game Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Kalamazoo College.
