Men’s soccer team opens season with 2-1 loss to Allegheny (Pa.)
The Olivet College men’s soccer team opened the 2006 season with a 2-1 loss to Allegheny (Pa.) College this evening at the Ohio Wesleyan University Fred Myers Invitational in Delaware, Ohio.
The Olivet College men's soccer team opened the 2006 season with a 2-1 loss to Allegheny (Pa.) College this evening at the Ohio Wesleyan University Fred Myers Invitational in Delaware, Ohio. The Comets (0-1) will play the host Bishops tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m.
In the seventh minute, Olivet scored first when sophomore Kevin Hagan (East Lansing) found the back of the net on a broken play in the box. The Gators (1-0) tied the game at 1-1 with a goal late at the 11:25 mark. Allegheny scored the game-winning goal with 1:58 left in the game on a shot from 30 yards out.
Hagan finished the game with a team-high three shots. Junior goalkeeper Michael Manning (Charlotte) played the entire game. He faced 17 shots and made five saves.
Following tomorrow's game, the Comets return home to face Saginaw Valley State University in their home opener Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 4:30 p.m.
