Men’s soccer team falls to Alma, 3-1
The Olivet College men’s soccer team let a 1-0 halftime lead slip away as Alma College rallied to beat the Comets, 3-1, this afternoon in Olivet.

The Olivet College men's soccer team let a 1-0 halftime lead slip away as Alma College rallied to beat the Comets, 3-1, this afternoon in Olivet.
Olivet scored its goal in the 28th minute when senior Trent Bronsink (Byron Center/South Christian) found the back of the net off a pass from freshman David Snyder (Lansing/Grand Ledge). Alma tied the game in the 74th minute and scored what proved to be the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 83rd minute. The Scots added an insurance goal three minutes later.
For the game, the Comets had 13 shots, including seven on goal. Bronsink and sophomore Kevin Hagan (East Lansing) each finished with three shots. Snyder along with freshman Josh VanWagner (Jackson/Lumen Christi) took two shots a piece. In goal, junior Michael Manning (Charlotte) the entire game, facing 18 shots and making eight saves.
Olivet concludes its season Saturday when it hosts Calvin College at 2 p.m.
