The Olivet College men’s soccer team was blanked by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Calvin College, 4-0, this afternoon in Olivet.
The Olivet College men's soccer team was blanked by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Calvin College, 4-0, this afternoon in Olivet. The Knights (16-1-1, 11-1-0 MIAA) entered the game ranked 17th in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Top-25 poll.
Calvin jumped out to a 2-0 lead with two goals in a span of just over one minute, the first at the 5:44 mark and the second at the 6:46 mark. The score remained 2-0 at halftime. The Knights added two goals in the 65th and 76th minute.
Freshman Alan Holdorf (Novi High School) led the Fighting Comets (3-11-4, 1-10-1 MIAA) with four shots. Junior Will Drogt (Kewadin/Elk Rapids High School) played the entire game in goal. He faced 33 shots and made 15 saves.
Olivet will wrap up its 2004 season next week. On Wednesday, the Comets host Albion College at 3 p.m., and on Saturday, they travel to play Tri-State (Ind.) University at 1:30 p.m.
