The Olivet College men's soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime draw against Defiance (Ohio) College this afternoon at the Ohio Northern University Adidas Classic in Ada, Ohio.
Defiance jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute. Senior midfielder Jason Shinabarger (Grand Blanc High School) tied the game at the 47:09 mark. Senior Justin Hemmer (Ludington High School) assisted on the goal.
Offensively, the Yellow Jackets outshot Olivet, 33-13. Freshman Alan Holdorf (Novi High School) was credited with four shots on goal for the Comets. Junior goalkeeper Will Drogt (Kewadin/Elk Rapids High School) had an outstanding game, recording 13 saves, including four in the overtime periods.
Olivet returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 15, when it travels for a non-league game at Oberlin (Ohio) College at 5 p.m.
