Men’s lacrosse team beats Adrian, 15-10, in MIAA-opener
The Olivet College men’s lacrosse team started Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play with a 15-10 win over Adrian College this afternoon at Docking Stadium in Adrian.

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Olivet College men's lacrosse team started Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play with a 15-10 win over Adrian College this afternoon at Docking Stadium in Adrian.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets jumped out to a 5-1 lead after one quarter of action. In the period, sophomore Justin Lamb and freshman Casey Petersen each scored two goals, while freshman Joshua Brantley had one.
- After the Bulldogs scored the first goal of the second quarter, Olivet responded with three straight goals to take a 9-2 lead. Adrian cut its deficit down to three with four consecutive goals in a three minute and 40 second span. Two Comet goals were sandwiched around a Bulldog goal to make the score 11-7 at halftime.
- Adrian out-scored Olivet 3-2 in the third quarter to trail by three, 13-10, at the start of the fourth quarter.
- Senior Cameron Bazin scored two goals for the Comets in the fourth quarter.
FOR THE COMETS
- Bazin led Olivet with six points (five goals and one assist) to go along with 21 shots, including 12 on-goal.
- Lamb finished with five points on four goals and one assist.
- Petersen had two goals and one assist for three points.
- Brantley also tallied two goals. He also won nine-of-19 face-offs.
- Freshman Connor Hamm paced all players with eight caused turnovers and 14 ground balls. The eight caused turnovers is a single-game school record, and the 14 ground balls ties for the second-most.
- Freshman Jake Steele picked-up the win in goal. He made six saves, while playing all 60 minutes.
FOR THE BULLDOGS
- Brayden Adrian topped the team with three goals on 11 shots.
- Michael Desmadryl, Kyle Sanderson and Michael Turner each scored twice.
- Desmadryl led the team with 13 ground balls.
- Peter Dugan suffered the goalie loss, collecting 17 saves.

- Olivet hosts Hope College Tuesday, April 10. Opening face-off from the Cutler Athletic Complex is slated for 7 p.m.
