FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College junior Nino Minaudo has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week. He is earning this honor for the second time this season.
Minaudo scored 17 total points in leading the Comets to a pair of wins and into a tie for second-place in the MIAA standings. He started the week with a five-point effort (three goals and two assists) in an 18-5 win April 19 at Kalamazoo College. Minaudo then broke the single-game school and MIAA records for points (12) and assists (eight) in a 23-6 blowout victory April 23 against Hope College. For the week, he had had seven goals and 10 assists for his 17 points to go along with 17 shots, including 11 on-goal.
"Nino is having a sensational season," said Olivet Head Coach Matt Holtz. "He has done a wonderful job of stepping into the role we have asked him to do. He understands what he needs to do and does it."
