Bio

Bill Maas was named head coach of the men's golf program at The University of Olivet in December 2014. He also serves as the Comets' head women's golf coach.

Maas has begun to revamp the men’s golf program like he has already done with the women's golf program. Since 2002-03, he has been the women's head coach and in that time, the Comets have finished in first- or second-place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings in 11 of the last 13 years, with conference titles in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2013. In addition, Maas has led his team to the NCAA Division III National Championships six times, finishing as high as ninth in 2007. He has coached four MIAA Most Valuable Golfers and three more who were four-time first-team All-MIAA honorees.

Maas’ teams have also excelled in the class room. The Comets have earned the MIAA Team GPA award 14 times, including the past 13 years. In addition, 28 golfers have combined to earn 75 Women’s Golf Coaches Association Scholar All-American awards.

Maas lives in Olivet with his wife, Amy.
