Olivet takes seventh at MIAA Jamboree #1

ANGOLA, Ind. –The University of Olivet men's golf team began Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play by placing seventh at the first of four jamborees this fall. Today's outing was at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets posted a 315 team score.
- Trine (Ind.) University captured the team title by one stroke over Hope College, 284 to 285.
- Two Trine golfers – Jack Besner and Garrett James – along with Liam Casey from Hope shared medalist honors with the four-under par 67s.
FOR THE COMETS
- Freshman Zachary Pier shot a team-low 75, including a 37 on the back nine. The performance tied him for 15th in the player standings.
- Senior Connor Jewell carded a seven-over par 78. He began the day on hole No. 10 and shot a 42 (+6) on the back nine before finishing his round with a 36 (+1) on the front nine.
- Sophomore Brady Applegate was next with a 79.
- Freshman Bradon Ellis completed his round in 83 strokes.
- Sophomore Noah LaValley had an 84.
- Junior Mitchell Bair-Pollard played as an individual scorer and recorded a 79.
