HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Junior Connor Jewell from The University of Olivet has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men's Golfer of the Week.
With a one-over par 73, Jewell finished first of 47 golfers to be selected the medalist at the Snowball's Chance Invitational. Heidelberg (Ohio) University hosted the one-day, 18-hole tournament at the Mohawk Golf & Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio. Jewell's round consisted of three birdies, 11 pars and four bogeys. He was the only golfer to record a birdie on the par 4, 382-yard No. 17.
"I am super happy to see Connor get a result like this," said Olivet head coach Bill Maas. "This is what he he's been working towards and it's great to see his hard work pay off."
Jewell and the Comets are off until Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14, when they participate in the Anderson (Ind.) University Invitational at the Anderson Country Club.
