Men’s golf team places 13th at Lou Collins Memorial
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Olivet College men’s golf team opened the 2022-23 season with a 13th-place performance at the 2022 Lou Collins Memorial Tournament. The Comets hosted the two-day, 36-hole tournament at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.

- After shooting a 337 in Friday's first round, the Comets dropped three strokes off their total in today's second round for a 334 and finish with a two-day total of 671 strokes.
- Trine (Ind.) University captured the team title with a two-day total of 586 strokes.
- Mitch Lowney from Trine was the individual medalist with back-to-back two-under par 70s for a two-round total of 140 strokes.
- Freshman Mitchell Bair-Pollard topped Olivet with a two-day total of 159 strokes, including a 77 in the second round.
- Senior Wes Darrow shot a 167 (81-86).
- Junior Liam Carter had two 85s for a 170.
- Junior Blake McLane carded a 176 (89-87).
- Sophomore Connor Jewell completed his two rounds in 178 strokes.
- Olivet participates in the Baldwin Wallace (Ohio) University Fall Invitational next Saturday, September 10, at the Pine Hills Golf Club in Hinckley, Ohio.
