EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Olivet College men's golf team is in eighth-place after the first round of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Fall Final Tournament at the Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing.

- The Comets carded a 337 team score in today's first round.
- Trine (Ind.) University is the first-round leader with a 290.
- Grant Brettnacher is the individual leader with a four-under par 68.
- Junior Nicholas Hoffman posted Olivet's best round with a five-over 77. His round included a long chip for a birdie on the par 4, 385-yard No. 18. He also had a birdie on the par 4, 419-yard No. 1.
- Freshman Isiah Strand completed his round in 84 strokes, with a birdie on the par 4, 322-yard No. 4.
- Freshman Wes Darrow was a stroke behind with an 85, including a birdie on the par 5, 504-yard No. 13.
- Freshman Kurtis Wolfram finished his round in 89 strokes. He birdied the par 4, 418-yard No. 11.
- The second round of the tournament gets under way at 9:30 a.m.
